City of Manchester

A few months back I set myself a new project. Basically I was to leave my digital gear at home and make use of an old Halina 35mm classic dating back to the 70's. I loaded it with some Kodak 400 T-max B&W 35mm film and took along my trusty but vintage Weston (euro-master) lightmeter.

The Halina classic is a very limited camera. With four shutter speeds to choose from and manual focus it took some getting used too. I must admit though, I was excited to see what I could create using a camera that cost me only £3.50 from ebay.

The anticipation of waiting for the film to develop was a new experience for me. With digital the results are instantaneous. With film, you look forward to the unexpected, what will the results be like, will I have anything worth keeping.

That reminds me, I still have a roll in my old russian Lubitel and I cant for the life of me remember what is on that film. Now I cant wait to find out!

Thanks for reading and here are a few images from my day in Manchester.
